About us

African Leadership focuses on strengthening families by addressing education and livelihoods together. We work with children and adults, recognizing that children’s long-term educational outcomes depend on the stability of their families and communities.

Our work begins with education. We develop and operate schools that provide consistent instruction, daily care, and safe learning environments. Today, African Leadership has helped establish over 100 schools, supporting more than 6,000 students with the guidance of over 300 teachers across multiple communities in Africa.

Education alone is not enough if families cannot support themselves. That is why we also create livelihood opportunities for adults, helping them develop skills, generate income, and contribute to their communities. Our work includes sustainable fish farming, construction and trade skills, and vocational training. African Leadership currently operates four fish farms, each producing approximately five tons of fish per year and generating an average annual income of $15,800. We also support hands-on training in brick making, construction, carpentry, and woodworking.

As we deepen this work, we are expanding to support survivors of trafficking and abuse. The rescue and retraining program provides safe housing, trauma therapy, job skills training, and employment support. As part of this effort, African Leadership is establishing a community sewing center in Franschhoek, Western Cape, where women who have experienced abuse, hardship, and vulnerability can develop sewing and tailoring skills for employment or self-employment.

By connecting education, livelihoods, skills training, and support for vulnerable communities, African Leadership works to strengthen families and create greater stability across the communities it serves.
